Leighton Buzzard Golf Club has simplified its Dress Code to bring it in line with the modern world and the modern game. From looking at the approach taken by some of the UK’s leading clubs, including St Andrew’s, we have arrived at a brief and simple statement which captures the original intention of the code. This is to ensure members, their guests and visitors are dressed appropriately, whilst encompassing the needs of members and the evolving fashion amongst golfers and the wider world.
Dress code - Golf Course
On the golf course, Leighton Buzzard Golf Club asks members, their guests, and visitors to observe standards of dress consistent with the traditions and conventions of the game of golf, whilst taking account of current golf fashion. For the avoidance of doubt, this means appropriate tailored clothing as would be purchased in a golf retail outlet and excludes blue denim jeans, tracksuits, training shoes or combat trousers.
Dress Code - Main Clubhouse
In the clubhouse, smart, clean, dry, un-torn casual attire and footwear are appropriate at all times, unless otherwise stipulated. Hats are not permitted. Clean, dry, spikeless golf shoes may be worn throughout the clubhouse.
